Smile Design

For patients who are self-conscious about the appearance of their teeth and gums a new smile can be designed and created to not just to improve the way your teeth look, but also how they function.

By taking the time to talk through your expectations and assess your mouth, a beautiful, healthy smile can be created using a combination of restorative and cosmetic dentistry. We ensure your smile design is tailored to your individual needs as well as your budget.

Before starting any treatment we take in to account your own natural features like the shape of your mouth and teeth, lip structure, gum and smile lines. We will give you a detailed plan of each stage and always answer any questions you may have about your treatment.

Benefits of smile design

  • Align crowded teeth
  • Repair chipped or broken teeth
  • Reduce a gummy smile
  • Close gaps
  • Whiten teeth
  • Widen a narrow smile
  • Change the length and shape of teeth
  • Replace missing teeth

If required we will work alongside other dental professional such as an orthodontist to straighten teeth, or an oral surgeon for more complex cases. We are able to refer and communicate with these specialists within the local area to ensure you get a beautiful smile.

Dental Rehabilitation

Smile design usually involves your front teeth, but we also encourage dental rehabilitation of your posterior teeth. Having missing teeth cannot only affect the way you speak and eat but can cause remaining teeth to move, changing your bite. These changes put extra stress on your teeth which can cause fractures, breakages and wear.

Your teeth are not just there to help you eat, they also support your lips and cheeks, and when some are missing this can change your face shape and cause over closing which is often associated with aging. Bridges, dentures and dental implants can all be used to replace these gaps, restoring vertical height and improving occlusion (bite).

Frequently Asked Questions

With care and good oral hygiene there is no reason why your smile design cannot last many years. Over time it is inevitable one or more teeth may need further treatment. If you have any concerns speak to your dentist before starting treatment.

A combination of treatments can be used to design your smile such as tooth whitening, cosmetic fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures and dental implants. We are able to offer referrals for treatment which cannot be carried out directly by us. All treatments are planned personally around your needs and wants.

Before undergoing any smile design we need to ensure you are dentally fit. Therefore we will always advise addressing issues such as decay and gum disease first. This ensures your mouth is healthy so we can get the best possible results.
